and we are doing good my friend. if we only win the current games we are playing, we'll get such a boost...
lords, just fight for it, don't give up, if you did a mistake in a game, why shouldn't it happen to the other. and think about it, how many real endgames did you played the last half year compared to the ones you resigned just after the middlegame?

kai ——— Magnus Carlsen wins blitz championship — The World Blitz Chess Championship in Moscow assembled 22 leading grandmasters for a three-day extravaganza of speed chess. Each player had three minutes, plus a bonus of two seconds per move, to complete a game. This time limit has supplanted five minute games as the standard for blitz. Norwegian chess prodigy Magnus Carlsen, who turns 19 Monday, won with a fantastic score of 31-11. That's 28 wins, eight losses and only six draws. World chess champion Viswanathan Anand of India, two weeks shy of age 40, continues to excel at a young man's game. He finished second with 28-14. Sergey Karjakin, who recently moved from Ukraine to Russia, was third at ...

if anyone would like to increase his/her games, please let me know, available players are now getting short, because many players cannot focus anymore on so many games and asked me to decrease their games. I like doing that, because what counts is quallity and wins. for top teams as ours, every loss hurts more, than we can get back with one win.
once more again, i would like to ask following players to get in contact with me:
ian371
mambrino
bess77
I've sent several msg's to you guys and don't get answer, so i try it once more again this way. thx
having a look at the teams table, I was happy to see this:
1. Vlad's Impalers 1824
2. The Burninators 1818
3. Chessters 1796
4. Shalom 1792
5. Night Fever 1777
6. «» Shrimpin' Boat «» 1776
7. [-|-] Brothers in Arms [-|-] 1761
8. WhiteBeltNinjas 1753
9. Valleimuppets 1749
10. ~~L°ЯÐs Ǿf Tнê teªm§~~ 1734
regarding the team score, we are still doing great:
12. The Belgian Chess Fighters 203
13. «» Shrimpin' Boat «» 197
14. The Dolphins 187
15. Dutch-Team 187
16. Living Legends! 160
17. Chuck's Knights 156
18. WhiteBeltNinjas 151
19. ~~L°ЯÐs Ǿf Tнê teªm§~~ 151
we secured place 19 now and have equal score with place 18.
I'm just a little disapointed that place 14 went so far away from us (we where there before!). so the others don't sleep and make points as well.
I've set priority on team challenges with teams higher than us. please note that every win against those teams gets us 2 points closer to our goal, but also every loss brings us 2 points away! so the gap isn't too big, but can grow rapidley if we keep on losing against those teams.
Soon i'll have to say sorry for losing my first team match, but I hope that he'll do a mistake in the (easy) endgame to be able to force a draw. whish me good luck for that, i'll need it.
I've checked out some of the ongoing team games and with some i was pleasantly surprised, others are lost but still fighting. so far of what i've seen, we are winning much more than we are losing in the current games. I'm excited about the high quality in the matches
I would especialy thank olympio ALL of his ongoing team games look like wins to me! others are doing so great as well, that i'm very happy now.
team chess, you gotta love it!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN

——— Magnus Carlsen's star continues to rise in Norway — Magnus Carlsen's World Blitz victory in Moscow has made the 19-year-old the darling of the Norwegian media. Carlsen scored 31/42 in the double-round event against the chess elite, with a rating performance close to 2900. He finished three points clear of world chess champion Vishy Anand, and six ahead of Sergey Karjakin in third. Despite this impressive performance, it was one of Carlsen's few defeats which really put him on the front pages and raised his fame quotient in Oslo to a par with Bobby Fischer. In an early round he lost to the world woman champion Alexandra Kosteniuk after blundering a rook, briefly attempting to substitute another move, and resigning ...

Message: to olympio
thats about the good news
last night we lost some team games from several players
olympio included...
he'll leave GK
i always stood up for him, because i like that guy, honest and a real human being, maybe a little too emotional, but that happens when everyone is attacking you
i don't know what to say, i don't know what to think
while writing this msg he's quitting all his tourney and league games because he thinks he has too many games going on
i'm frustrated and sad
another one bites the dust
if he resigns his team games, i'm ready to take the consequences and leave the team as well. i brought him into the team, it's my fault. if you don't want me, let me know
i havn't lost a team game yet and would draw the others, so don't be worried about your points. honest opinions are asked
i was taking the job over for lotr, improved the team, had some new ideas which worked out until he comes back
i'm very sorry that all this happens to the team, didn't see that coming. top 10 was so close, sorry about that...

Message: I read all posts about bad/sad news and have to say that I totally agree with all these comments which gave the support to our captain. It's not anybody faults for olympio's quitting except his own (totaly childish behavior, but this is his desicion)...I think that kai_sim does a great job here and he has to continue with that especially now. Our team is paying consequences (I think -37 points if counted right) and we need to continue with much efforts and will for victory in our games and we need a captain who take care of everything about team (I'm sure you'll agree that kai_sim is the right person for that).
Just one suggestion for future. We learned in painful way that is very dangerous to give to many team-games to one player becouse if this player leave the team, team will loose few months to reach the point before all this happen. My suggestion is to establish a rule that one player can play only 4 games at the same time unless he made enough pluses. After that he can play number of games equal his result + 4 (my case: I have +9, so I culd play only 13 games at the same time; someone with +24 could play 28 games etc.). This way we could minimise the suffer if someone leave the team. Team would lost all points this player earned before and four points more in the worst case.
What do you think?
Best wishes, experimentator

Message: experimentator I love that idea and feel a bit blunt, because I didn't think about that before. Also, the max count on team matches will now be 20 games, regardless if the team score is on +300 or on +16.
So it will be for the future!
olympio's team score was (if I recall it right) on like 15 points. Still a big loss (he had like 50 games going on) and other resigned games are still coming up...
Right now we are on place 21 with both, score and team rating.
Place 25 was when I joined ;p
still a big loss and much work to climb up again, but I'm sure we can do it! Just a matter of time...
I also received this msg from our ole friend dialos:
07-Nov-2003 15:47 Private message from dailos:
Hello, kai_sim!
I can say to you that today I return to the life again. In September I suffered a strong accident with my car and with all my family. Only for two days I went out of the hospital. I lost two championship and do not be how many divided per time. Already I am a little recovered and arranged to playing when you decide.
An embrace for you and for the whole team
Dailos
...i thought he just left GK without telling us anything and threw him out of the team.
I apologize for that and hope that everything is now fine for him and his family again and that every one will/has recover fast.
I'll be willing (and be happy to) to take him back onto the team, when he applies for it and give him a second chance.
Due to his time outs in his regular games, his rating also dropped, so I'm positive that his first team games will be a little bit easier going :)
I thank you all for the support you gave me I really appreciate that. Yes, as a team captain I'll try my best to get the team back up again. Things just didn't go well for us in the past few days, but I'm sure, that after this crisis we will be better than ever before, because "things that can't destroy you, will just make you stronger" (old saying, German I think).
So you all take care, give your best, think twice about your next move and don't time out, then we will all do the best we can do for team. I'll try to increase my team matches as well, but for that I'll have to get rid of some MT's first, otherwise I'll not be able to focus enough. Too many games isn't good (had once 150+ games going on at the same time, I can tell...)
Best regards and good luck

our new rule is team score + 4 = max number of team games
the captain reserves the right to make exceptions, for example when a player has negative team score

If strong player want to join, it's safe for team to make a joining progress slow. Initial 4 games is enough to see if new teammate is serious enough, then, when he/she make some pluses, he/she can play more games (as a matter of fact, every win means two new games possibility).
Olympio IS the strong player, but you'll agree with me that our team doesn't need another one like him.
If strong player who joined GK long time ago wants to join our team, MAYBE (but only maybe) our captain could rise maximum games. But, I ask simle question: why would player who is strong enough and who joined GK long time ago like to join our team now?

11/27/2003 14:58:48 Play online chess | hi all!
Message: I'd like to ask for two more games (I have 12 desired games now and think I could handle with 14). My match aginst zormaster finished with 1:1 after agreement that everyone resign one lost endgame (it's good for our time for other games, I think).
One question for you: is there any rule describing draw positions in long endgame after 50 moves without moving a pawn or something like that (look my game board #886246 and see what I mean)? I'll try to win...
I received a private message from davism:
"Private message from davism:
Hello, experimentator!
how are you my friend??
I am a captain of a temporary team name of unknown, as we need to decide the team name together. i have just started a great team, take a look, we also have our own team forums, and our aim is to have the friendliest team, and to be right up there with the top teams, we have some great players such as dominic.... and i hope u can join our fabulous team, we want more quality in this team like you. Give it a go, because i know u will enyoy it, you can play as many or as little games as u wish, the advantage of joing this team is that u will be part of something special, and we get u team games, no need to worry about getting those games, we do the work for u!! we will lso have lots of fun together, were we have many ideas such as our own little league, a thing on the forums, where we discuss moves to play against a top gk rated player, were we all can learn. For more info just let me know, as we have the energy and passion to be the best, i am hoping u can join us in that conquest too, i promise not to disapoint u!
we have a very very strong team. Its not that we are just going to be strong, but we are going to be active and a very friendly team. We do this as we have our own team forums!!! Its the team for u, as its a very democratic team, and anything the players want, such as any ideas to improvve the team, such as implementing a team league, then I will try and implement it!! To keep team members happy I will be producing very long team reports, about everything that goes on in the team!!! its also fun too read. I will be doing upto 1000 words long! You think its just playing chess nd scoring team points, we try and learn, and have fun while trying to get the team to the top of the table!!! That will happen as the rating team points will be changed, and as we have such a strong team, we will be aiming for the top. We will also be doing many other things as a team such as an intra tournament, team league. An event where us, the team discuss moves against one of the top players on this site such as cyrano and cairo!!!!
best regards
mark
P.S. If u dont join, then take care and enjoy chess my friend!!!"
Interesting fact is that I never played with davism and never intended to leave this team. I am curious did any of you receive similar message, becouse if someone is, that's spam, and if it's only message for me (I don't know why) then I should politely decline the offer.
Best wishes teammates, experimentator

11/27/2003 15:44:41 Play online chess | i'm disapointed
Message: experimentator, to read that. davism didn't quit his old team, they quit him.
he was a cheater, didn't fixed team challenges as agreed and matched sometimes with 300+. also, someone who starts a team, should be able to make up a team name, because the founder of the team decides, and after that they still can change the name. however, i'm not sure how successfull a team will be where deleted accounts like deutsche joined.
anyways, i'm not sure if it helps to answer your question, but the msg is not personal at all, i'm positive that he wrote the same msg to multiple accounts.
thx for sticking together with us and not even thinking about switching, i thank you in the name of all of us.
there is a remis rule, also 3 fold repition, but the game you pointed out you definately won.
v_glorioso12's
issue is fixed, we found a solution for his problems, he'll join the team again and will get new matches.
thx to all of you
