The HKJC has raised its prize money across all races next season, ensuring that every grade of racing from Class 1 to Griffin will carry extra prizes. The total prize pool has increased by nearly 90% in the past 10 years, and will top HK$10 million for the first time this year. The Club has also lifted Group 2 and 3 prize money, increasing them by 5.3% and 5.4% respectively.
Athletes who win a medal in the Olympics will also get double their payouts. For example, Singaporean kitesurfer Maximilian Maeder stands to earn a record-breaking HK$9 million prize if he wins a gold medal for his country in Paris. This is the highest amount ever paid to a single athlete, surpassing the previous record set by a French cyclist in 2014.

Each of the five prize winners have contributed to expanding the horizons of science possibilities for humanity.
In order to ensure the fairness of the prize draw, employees with HKJC’s security and customer service departments will check all materials used for the draw on a regular basis, including the boxes, balls, and the drawing machine. The results of the draw will also be verified by a third party.
