The Sidney Prize is awarded monthly to a piece of journalism that appeared online in the previous month. This award is given out based on the quality of the article and the ability to report on social or economic issues in an honest, thoughtful manner. The award also offers a $500 honorarium and a certificate designed by New Yorker cartoonist Edward Sorel.

The prize is named in memory of Sidney Lanier, a student who left his mark on the University. He was a graduate of the University in the early twentieth century and was known for his writings on politics, culture and religion.

There are three main prizes in the Sidney Prize: The Thomas Robinson Prize, the James Wright Prize and the Michael Horovitz Prize. These prizes are worth different amounts and each one has its own criteria for eligibility.

First, there is the Thomas Robinson Prize for Southern Literature. This is a special award for writers who write about the South over a long period of time. This prize is named after a former student of the University who was an acclaimed poet and professor. The winner of this award will be announced on April 23 at 1 p.m. in the Presidents Dining Room inside the University Center on the Macon campus.

Second, there is the Sidney Award for Investigative Journalism. This award is given out monthly to an outstanding piece of journalism that was published in an American magazine, newspaper or on a news site or blog.

Third, there is the Neilma Sidney Short Story Prize. This is a special award that is given to a student who is studying in the Master of Moving Image degree at the University of Sydney. This award was established to help students with their final project. The prize was donated by Sydney Film Production Company PTY LTD (T/as Sydney Films).

Fourth, there is the June Hartnett Prize for Proficiency in Ancient History. This is an annual award that was set up in memory of a friend who was a graduate of the University with a particular interest in Latin and ancient history.

Fifth, there is the Sidney Cox Prize for Undergraduate Writing. This is a prize for the best undergraduate written work submitted in competition. The prize was set up in memory of a friend of Professor Sidney Cox and is administered by a committee, which includes Robert Frost ’96 and A. B. Guthrie ’36.

sixth, there is the Sidney Hillman Prize for Journalism. This is a prize that is awarded to an American journalist who has excelled in their field of study. This prize is given out by the Sidney Hillman Foundation and is awarded to a journalist each year.
