Game analysis Hello, everybody.

I am new to this place, but I feel that I shall have a good time over here. I am also quite new to chess(about 5 months), and am looking to improve my game(who isn't?).

I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to offer a brief analysis of this game I played with Chessmaster 9000. I am white.

Also, I was wondering whether any of you know if there are any chess clubs in Pakistan. I've looked around a bit, but havn't found any.

Thanks!

Hassan.

... 3. c5 was risky because it overextends your pawn (thus your c and d pawns got rocked within 10 moves). Continuation for Semi-Slav Defense normally goes 3. Nf3, but you know... to each his own.

I think I would've chased away the bishop with 14. Na4 before doing 14. f4. The trading after 14. f4 didn't serve much of a purpose, and it seemed that the computer kept winning a pawn in trades.

You moved 21. exd5 at the perfect time. That saved you drastically by destroying black's pawn structure.

I got lost around move 40 and didn't want to restart. I'm curious, though, as to which rated "player" you played this game on Chessmaster.

Thanks a lot chessnovice. I'll go over the points you gave.

Well, it was THE chessmaster(the guy with the not so cool beard).

Sorry. Just for the record, it was CM 8000, not 9000.
